The assignment supported IFC’s Global Manufacturing Decarbonisation initiative in developing a financing pipeline for decarbonisation investments among textile, apparel and footwear suppliers in Pakistan. It formed part of supplier outreach under the USD 250 million DTAFS Fund and connected shortlisted suppliers with IFC’s investment and advisory teams and fund manager, SIMA Funds. The work focused on supplier mobilisation, investment readiness and the availability of technical, implementation and capital-planning information required to inform financing discussions and investment decisions.
Espire engaged and mobilised Pakistan-based textile, apparel and footwear suppliers shortlisted for the financing facility. It facilitated interactions among supplier management and technical teams, IFC’s global project lead, IFC investment and advisory teams, and SIMA Funds. Espire coordinated follow-up data collection and the submission of supplier investment plans, ensuring that technical and management counterparts addressed information required for investment-pipeline development. Espire also reviewed available technical assessments and the implementation status of previously identified decarbonisation measures to clarify progress, outstanding actions and potential investment requirements. This included structured review of supplier management arrangements, governance readiness, capital-planning information and supporting documentation. The resulting information strengthened continuity between earlier technical diagnostics and financing decisions and supported IFC and the fund manager in assessing supplier preparedness for climate-aligned investment.
